Massive Bubbles!

I bought this book from one fo my favortie fun stores, United Art and Education.  The bubble thing that you use to make the bubbles with would be very easy to make yourself, but I never would have come up with the bubble solution.  The book said that humid weather is perfect for making giant bubbles, so Indiana summertime is ideal.  The day we did it was a little windy, but we still had some great success.

I watched her trying to take this picture.  Wish I had a camera or my phone to get a picture of it.
That bubble was about 2 feet in diameter.  Yes, I'm impressed with myself.
Another thumbs up pose.
Sitting on the swing, I think.  So proud my daughter wears Chucks.
You don't have to move if there's abit of wind, however if it's dead still, you have to turn or walk to get the bubble going.
The book says that little tiny bubbles are bad for making giant bubbles, so she was obsessed with getting every last microbubble out of the mix.
I think her bubbles were bigger than mine.
I never got a picture of it, but she was able to make a few that wrapped around her.
Next humid windless day we'll be out with the bubbles.  Feel free to drop by!

Brickyard weekend

Tons of pictures.  Saturday night we gathered at Dad &; Mom's for a cookout.  It was horribly hot, as anyone in Indiana knows, so we very quickly got out the sprinkler for the kids.
Apparently, Eliz messed with the sprinkler, so Dad had to come and adjust it.
After he adjusted it, he helped the grandkids cool off
Then he sat down and didn't share his food with the "other" grandkids.
Eliz caught in action!
Hhhmmm, wonder where Lex got the idea to do that?!?
Notice Dad hadn't finished his hamburger?
What happens to a Grandchild that gives Grandpa a taste of his own medicine?  Get it back double time!
Evil Grandpa Face
I surrender!
Adults watching helpless children get attacked with waterhose.
More adults watching children
Adults eating and resting between attacking children with hose.
Abi staying true to her roots and getting nekked
Evil Uncle Gary Face, and The Quilter looks pretty happy too!
The Dynamic Dou getting messed with by Uncle Gary.
Bry-D and Gary chatting
Her first "J"!  She's getting married in October, woo-hoo!
Yeah, he's at it again.
Take cover!
Hey Grandpa, see what I leaerned today!
To those of you who don't know my parents-Dad's smile says he's giving Mom a hard time and really enjoying it, and Mom's face says that after this many years, it stills gets on her nerves.
Nekked Abi's impersonation of Grandpa.

Fun in the tub!

We have a Saturday night tradition we call Big Water.  It started when Eliz was about two and we let the bath water run for awhile and instead of lowering the water level we let her swim in the tub.  Big Water night is sometimes bubblebath instead of big water, but it's a specail bath night.
I admit I'm not the best lifeguard, at 7 pm I really just want to go to bed myself.
She was a shark or something and was going to eat us all up.
Lex tried to eat the bubbles and didn't find them to be tasty.
I think I was politely telling Bry-D not to take my picture.
I hadn't planned on a bubble hug
But I'm a sucker for baby lovin'
Not such a threatening bubble monster, if you ask me.

Introducing Mary & Joseph

Our Tadpoles.  Or, Eliz's tadpoles.  We got them as part of the Unit on weather that we're doing.  They are bullfrog tadpoles, and they are much larger than I expected.  I've only seen scrawny little wild frog tadpoles, so when I opened the bag and saw these monstrous things I almost dropped the bag.  They are bigger than my thumb, in length and in width!  Eliz named them, and I like their names, altho I still hope she'll change her mind and go with Han and Leia.  At least I didn't try for Jacob and Bella.  Yes, I'm Team Jacob.
I'm glad I got the plastic figures, it seemed to help her get her mind around the process they were going to go through easier.

This weekend

I had a few things to sell, so I joined some friends' garage sale.  I caught Jenny playing with the toys...
And Jon carrying heavy things even tho Jenny told him not to...
Batgirl and a Ballerina...
The Ballerina tried to buy her lamp back at her own garage sale...she was willing to pay $5 for a lamp that was marked $3...
Then Bry-D played with the kids...
They took anice walk after the rain...
It was a nice, full weekend.  Hope yours was great!

Star Wars

Eliz has now seen Star Wars Episodes 4 thru 6, and loves them.  It's odd that I'm proud she likes a movie series.  This morning when she sat down to draw a picture, she drew Darth Vader and Luke.  I love her interpretation of Vader's mask.  And that he's purple.  I'm surprised he doesn't have his cape, she kept asking questions about it.  Why does he have it?  What does it do?

Like her name? Once she gets to "a" she usually stops. She says it takes to long to write. I've offered to have her use "Lizzie" but she doesn't want to. The blue crayon across the bottom is from Lex. Busy weekend and lots of pictures too!  May not get to posting them until tomorrow though!

Have a great weekend!

Look at that sleepy face!

I'm getting used to the fact that dirt is happiness to my little boy.  Luckily right now, he drops everything and runs to the bathroom when you say "Bathtub"
