What did I find?  A snack that LEx loves and Eliz thinks is disgusting!  This means he can eat in peace, witjout his siter takings ome or half of his snack.
I have to decide if I'm going to mmake the fruit puree and save money, or buy it and save time.  Catch ya later, folks, busy day today!

Truely, I want to be grateful, I do...

I want to appreciate the fact that I won't have to buy either of my children clothes.

Ever.

Really, I know what a blessing it is-I had to buy Eliz clothes in August of 09 because the handmedown bag had two pants and three shirts in a size 5.  Not only was it expensive, it was a headache.

However, I have gone thru 4 bags of size 6 clothes and four bags of size 18 months clothes for Lex, and my head hurts from trying to sort it all.

This is what their closet looks like without the laundry being done, and I have to figure out what stays and what goes...what fits, what is in season, what will she wear?  So, thank you to everyone that contributed to the piles of clothing in my house, but if any of you, and you know who you are, show up or try to give me a bag of clothes, I'm going to start banging my head against a wall.

Sunday Morning

I try to give the kids some sort of activity to do while I'm doing dishes, picking up, preparing breakfast.
With all the rain we've and all that is predicted water play seemed the right way to go.

I went to Goodwill

Looking for a BIG magazine rack, and I found one!  Though it's being used to corral the kids' books in the living room.  It's going to get refinished when start on the living room.

I also found a rocking horse for Xander,

a ballet figurine for Eliz's desk,

children's craft books, the watercraft one looks like loads of fun!

some cross stitch patterns, I have minor obsession with floral cross stitch

and this finger play book.  I've been reading the finger play book with Elizabeth, I wish I knew how to read music better so I could sing the plays.  I think I'll hit up a friend to help me figure out the tune.

In between rain showers...

We went outside. The weather really felt great, even with the threat of rain hanging in the air. Around the corner of the house is an area of dirt, with a downspout that turns it into a mud pit with a small mud puddle. This is where we spent our time today.
We played in the very small mud puddle and sorta wet dirt
Made mud pies (of course)

Began to build small houses for small visitors of any kind (we’re not picky here)
Thank goodness no-one got dirty!

I think it took longer to clean the bathtub-forgot that if the mud’s wet it slides right off!

The Quilter is a baby thief

Yesterday we spent the day at The Quilter's house.  She is by profession, a hairstylist.  She's been doing my hair since, well, since she was in school to be a hairstylist.  If ever she moves, I'll have to stop having my hair cut.  But yesterday, she stole my baby!  Looka t what happened when she cut Lex's hair!  She turned him into a little boy!!
Look!  Just a few days ago he was a baby boy!
And now look what she's done!  Turned him into atoddler, that's what she's done.
Mean evil big sister.

The saddest picture I have ever seen

Why is a picture of a fat red dog with a chewed up milk carton so sad?
This reminds me of a scrapbooking class I took on journaling. The teacher explained that journaling about a picture was like an onion-there are layers. And the core is the part that makes you cry the most. Each person in the class had a picture, and we used them to learn how to journal the different layers. I will never forget one woman’s core-what looked like a cute picture of a little girl was really a testament to how wrong a Doctor’s predictions and expectations can be. Not a dry eye in the room.

Here are the layers of this picture.

Layer 1- Sheena in the backyard, 10 years old

Layer 2- Sheena, 10 years old, in the backyard playing with Sadie and Sheena’s favorite toy, an empty milk carton

Layer 3-Sheena in the backyard, a few weeks before she died, possibly the last picture taken of her.

Core-Sheena I miss you. You were all the things a dog is supposed to be to a person. You were the only one who was always ecstatic to see me, always willing to drop anything to be with me. I regret so much about the way you died. I wish that when Mom and Dad told me you had been hit by a car I had said to put you to sleep, and not thought of my own desire to say goodbye. You were such a good girl, you didn’t deserve to die in agony. It’s so selfish and wrong, but I’m still relived that I wasn’t there when you did die, that my last memory of you is your head resting on my lap, your soft ears absorbing my tears as they had done so many times before. But this time was different, because I had never cried about you. When I realized that afternoon that you were holding on for me, or maybe the whole family, I had to tell you it was okay for you to die. That I would never forget you, would always love you, and never stop missing you. Oh, Sheena, I would ask you to forgive me, but I know you, and you already have.

Lazy Day

It was such a beautiful day, we were outside for most of it.
We sat in the shade and read books.
Eliz went “Super Fast” on her bike
And while she pretended to sleep,
Lex tried to ride her bike
Bath time is always fun, wish I was an evening person so I looked somewhat alert

He’s so yummy!

A toddler in a unionsuit, is there anything cuter?

Busy Busy Busy!

Grandma came for a visit(and all the good pictures are on her camera)

Lex got a tricycle, and took Aaron's bike for a spin

First bubble bath for Lex

Cleaned out the garage and the attic, left it all in the living room.

I think there's more, but I'm to sleepy to think of it...naptime ya'll!

Coloring fun

Last week the Quilter and I went to Imagination Station.  They were having a moving sale, and everything was 40% off.  I didn't lose complete control, though I did enjoy watching the kids play while we shopped.  Eliz loves the Calico Critters animals, and Lex didn't notice anything that didn't have wheels.  One of the things I bought were watercolor pencils, one of my favorite art supplies.  Yesterday Eliz and I used them for the first time.
She painted on half of the paper, and I did the other half.
She really enjoyed it.  In my opinion, watercolor painting is the most relaxing of all artistic activites.  That and wheel throw pottery.  Mmmhhh, I've just gone to my Happy Place...a studio with a pottery wheel, big sky lights and lots room for easels and painting...ah, someday.
When I first put the water on it, she had her nose on the paper, watching it turn from pencil marks to paint.  At first she was making very thin lines, and getting upset that they weren't producing more color.  She quickly figured out that the thicker the line, the more paint you get.
I'm sure we will have plenty more of these, but I won't share all of them with you.  Have a great day!

Rinse your workers as well
